Angelos Lappas

Dr Angelos Lappas is since 2009 the director and scientific responsible of the Laboratory of Environmental Fuels-Biofuels and Hydrocarbons (LEFH) of CPERI/CERTH. He is responsible for the coordination of the research activities of LEFH, which employs 48 people and is the largest group of CPERI. According to the last two external evaluations of CPERI, LEFH has been recognized as a laboratory with unique research and experimental infrastructures at international level.

Dr Lappas coordinated in the last years more than 50 industrial collaborations with a total budget of about 15,000,000 euros. Among these industrial partners are major fuel and biofuels companies like BP, UOP, KiOR, TOTAL, REPSOL, NESTE, HELPE, METSO, FORTUM etc. The published research work of the Research Director is summarized as follows: 70 Papers in Referee Journals, 1 Patent, 100 Papers in International Conferences with Review 75 Papers in Greek Conferences, 2 Books, 2 Editor in Books, 5 Chapters in books, more than 1000 citations (excluding self-citations), h-index 14 (excluding self-citations). He has served as member of three-member committees of 6 PhDs at AUTH and the University of Western Macedonia and has supervised 35 undergraduate thesis and 30 internships of students from abroad. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Master Program “Catalysis and Applications” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a member of the General Assembly of the Greek Institute for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK).
